Vision Long Island Welcomes Three New Board Members
Vision Long Island is pleased to announce three new additions to its Board of Directors: John Durso of LI Federation of Labor and Local 338, Robert Scheiner of H2M, and Keith Samaroo of Paulus, Sokolowski, & Sartor (PS&S). All three are long-standing supporters of the Smart Growth movement. They will add diverse perspectives to our Board, drawing from impressive backgrounds and experience: Durso is a well-recognized voice for the labor community on Long Island, Scheiner has a long history of engineering, architectural and environmental excellence and Samaroo brings private sector expertise in redevelopment through engineering and architecture. Vision welcomes them and looks forward to working together to improve Long Island’s land use and transportation infrastructure.
Keith Samaroo, Paulus, Sokolowski, & Sartor
Mr. Samaroo is a Principal at PS&S and is responsible for managing the New York Offices on Long Island and Yonkers. He has more than 15 years of experience working in the private real estate development and corporate markets. Mr. Samaroo is responsible for the sales of engineering services within the real estate markets including Brownfields, Waterfront and Urban Infill redevelopment projects. Mr. Samaroo is responsible for creating new relationships with clients as well as enhancing existing client relationships. In his capacity, Mr. Samaroo also plays a role in the coordination and preparation of cost proposals as well as client management during the design process. He also coordinates the efforts of all involved disciplines to ensure client milestones are achieved. Mr. Samaroo is also responsible for developing relationships with municipalities and governing agencies to help streamline the approval process of projects.
He is Board of Director & Officer for US Green Building Council (LI Chapter), Board of Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Chairman of Trustees for United Methodist Church, and Alumni of LIBN “40 Under 40” Award. He has a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Fordham University, Equivalent Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College, and a Masters in Banking & Finance from Dowling College.
