To develop campus master planning for manufacturing, packaging and warehousing operations.
The definition of the projections for the manufacturing, packaging and warehousing needs presented a challenge because there were multiple factors to consider throughout – FDA, EU and DEA requirements were all involved in this effort.
THE PS&S SOLUTION
PS&S prepared master planning documents to define a new direction for the campus. Current operations were assessed with the Management team. Projections for manufacturing, packaging, and warehousing needs were defined for 5 years and 10 years out. Project also affected related spaces such as testing labs, locker rooms, sampling, weighing machine shops, and washing operations.
Areas of the floor plan were reviewed to identify under-utilized space, active pharma processing, and space that could not be released. The circulation of the product though the building was reviewed and material flow for raw material and finished product needed to comply with FDA, EU and DEA regulations.
These factors were addressed and PS&S developed a master plan for the building to expand in the future. As the manufacturing features were moved off site, the Raritan site was transformed into a “Center of Excellence” for worldwide packaging.
