Eco Trek 2009: Live Healthy, Go Green!
Lake Rickabear Girl Scout Campsite

PS&S was among the featured exhibitors at EcoTrek 2009, at the Lake Rickabear Girl Scout Campsite in Kinnelon. PS&S' display included examples of the materials it used in its design of Camp Jockey Hollow, including a miniature model of a Jockey Hollow log cabin with its gravel detention basin. PS&S incorporated many Green Design elements into the Camp Jockey Hollow design, including:

  • Cabins made from locally cut wood
  • Gravel detention basins
  • Heat supplied by wood burning stoves using wood from trees that fell naturally
  • Shower/sink waste water is filtered on-site to remove nitrates and recycled to provide irrigation for trees
