Bally's Park Place Wild, Wild West Casino
Atlantic City, New Jersey
When Bally's Park Place decided it wanted its new casino addition to have a Las Vegas-style theme, a new standard for Atlantic City, Paulus, Sokolowski and Sartor (PS&S) was a natural choice to become an integral member of the design team.
PS&S designed the plumbing, sprinkler, and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for the new expansion, and the areas that were modified within the existing facility. Three 1,500-ton centrifugal liquid chillers capable of 5,800 gpm were designed with condenser water provided via three cross-flow cooling towers. Electrical engineering consisted of power distribution, branch circuit design for lighting, and receptacles as required. In addition, a complete fire alarm system was also designed. A one-story structure with a partial second floor was constructed on the roof to house the mechanical/electrical equipment.
PS&S also provided structural, and geotechnical engineering design services, as well as all regulatory permitting, for the 165,000 sf western-theme casino expansion, which included a 17,000 sf buffet restaurant, 5,000 sf kitchen, and public and office space.
