PS&S was asked to provide A/E design support as necessary to meet the growing needs of a successful pharmaceutical company on its multiple campuses in the tristate region.
Purdue’s continuing growth and evolving facilities require PS&S to provide pharmaceutical design expertise in a variety of situations, for both small and large-scale projects.
THE PS&S SOLUTION
PS&S’s first project with Purdue was actually the largest we performed for them – the creation of a new 120,000 sf research and development facility in Cranbury, NJ. This facility was a fit-out of an existing shell building, billed as a speculative laboratory facility, but designed by the developer in an outrageous “bat-wing” shape. Our design for this complicated lab program, which included research and development of both small and large molecule products, molecular computer modeling, vivaria and a variety of support spaces, was actually able to achieve a net-to-gross area ratio which compared favorably with industry benchmarks.
Following the success of this project, Purdue has relied on our team to provide design services for office and lab renovations on several other campuses, as well as equipment replacements, upgrades to manufacturing trains, and other optimizations to manufacturing areas.
