American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) New York
PS&S was recognized with the Diamond Engineering Excellence Award within the Environmental Category from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) New York for the following project: Design, Permitting, Construction and Long-Term Monitoring In Perpetuity of a Sediment Cap Remediation under a Building in the Hudson River - Yonkers, NY (Former BICC Cables Site for the City of Yonkers).
Association of Environmental Authorities (AEA)
PS&S client, the Musconetcong Sewerage Authority, was honored with a Best Management Practices Wave Award for recent work at their Water Pollution Control facility in Budd Lake, New Jersey.
Led by Jim Wancho, Carroll Oliva and Rich Crane, our Water Resources Team provided planning, design and construction phase services assisting the Musconetcong Sewerage Authority in the implementation of the facility improvements. Through the efforts of the project team, new Influent Screening and Tertiary Filter facilities were constructed. The Authority also purchased and installed a total of nineteen (19) primary and secondary scum and sludge pumps for replacement of existing pumps.
2023
Association of Environmental Authorities (AEA)
PS&S client, the Borough of Mendham Sewer Department, received the “Forward Thinking Award” from the Association of Environmental Authorities (AEA). The award highlighted the recent $1.7 million dollar sewer collection system rehabilitation project which PS&S assisted with NJ I-Bank Funding, CCTV inspection assessment, rehabilitation design, construction administration and inspection services.

PS&S and other major partners on the Elmora Avenue 20” Replacement project received a Distinguished Engineering Award from the NJ Alliance for Action.
PS&S and other major partners on the Millville High School Additions and Renovations project received a Distinguished Engineering Award from the NJ Alliance for Action.
PS&S and other major partners on the Camden County Reliability Project, Phase II-16: Pipeline, received a “New Jersey’s Leading Capital Construction Project” award from the NJ Alliance for Action.

ASCE NJ's Civil Engineer of the Year
Congratulations to our Carroll J. Oliva - who was awarded as ASCE NJ's Civil Engineer of the Year. We are proud to see him recognized for all his contributions. Oliva joined PS&S and established the company’s sanitary engineering group in 1989. For 12 years he provided process and architectural wastewater expertise while mentoring many designers, engineers and technical staff along the way. Oliva returned to PS&S in 2014 to continue his contributions to the Water Resources practice.

Prior to its acquisition by PS&S in 2022, B. Thayer Associates (BTA) was presented with the Project of the Year Award for a Bridge Repair Contract for Six Locations in NY.
New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) - New Good Neighbor Award
The Wesmont Station project located in Wood-Ridge, NJ and is a 125 acre property that accounts for more than 20% of the land area of the Borough of Wood-Ridge. This project received the New Good Neighbor Award for its improvements to the local community.
The HARTZ MOUNTAIN: Cummins & Preferred Freezer Facilities located in the Town of Kearny, NJ won the NJBIA New Good Neighbor award.
2018
The American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey (ACECNJ)
PS&S was recognized with the Distinguished Award in Engineering Excellence at the ACECNJ’s 47th Engineering Excellence Awards Banquet. The honor was awarded for PS&S's work providing design and engineering services for the renovation and addition to building B9 at Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Hopewell, NJ campus. The project consisted of 40,000sf of renovations and a 13,000sf addition to an existing R&D laboratory building. Along with architecture and mechanical, electrical, and piping design, PS&S also provided the geotechnical reporting and the structural engineering. The project is an example of architectural and engineering design that is “inspired by the science."

PS&S’s work for “AVE at Florham Park,” recently received a Merit Award from the NJASLA in the Landscape Architectural Site Design category.
The “AVE at Florham Park” is a 265 unit flexible-stay rental community situated on 11 acres on the former home of Exxon’s engineering division in Florham Park, NJ. Craig Cartmell was the project lead for our Landscape Architecture team which provided schematic design through construction administration and project close out for the latest development at The Green at Florham Park, a 268-acre master-planned development.
