A major gas utility company planned facility improvements to their northwest New Jersey system. Prior to their implementation, modifications to a critical M&R facility were required to accommodate the planned construction.
Maintaining continuity of service was the primary challenge. The station had multiple transmission supplies and required the construction of nearly a mile of high pressure piping to backfeed a regulating station planned for retirement. The new runs at the Gate Station required the installation of a natural gas pipeline heater.
THE PS&S SOLUTION
Following the survey of the site and the preparation of existing condition plans, PS&S prepared base mapping for the high pressure backfeed and the retirement of the existing regulator station. PS&S also prepared the necessary construction plans for the modification of the existing Gate Station and the installation of the new natural gas heater.
